What's Up: 2008

Elaine is slated to start "working with her hands" more intensively over the next couple of years. She has recently attended a Print Your Fabric course at NAFA (Singapore), focused on shedding light on the basic processes and techniques of silk screen printing.

Still passionate about her vocation as designer-maker, Elaine is currently preparing the Spring/Summer 2009 launch of handmade and hand drawn creations for her design studio mein™ - which includes reclaimed-carriers, paper-cuttings, badges, cover-buttons and postcards.

Her works will incorporate old school printing techniques such as gocco, silkscreen and even hand cut rubber stamping.

In the personal arena , 2008 will be a hectic but eagerly anticipated year for Elaine. Together with her architect husband, they will be setting up their first home in a cosy (tiny) pad in the eastern part of the island of Singapore.

Although legally wed, they are concurrently caught in the mayhem of preparing for a Church wedding and reception, towards the end of 2008.
